Taluk Level Sports Competition

On 28th & 29th September 2010 sponsored Taluk Level Sports Competition at Ajjarkadu Grounds. Letterpads, Pens, Whistels with guards costing Rs. 2500 to the officials of the Sports Meet were given.

Regular Meeting

On 18th September 2010 monthly meeting was conducted at the residence of Shakunthala Kunder. The club bulletin “Kasturi” was released by Shakuntala Kunder. Inner Wheel quiz was conducted and spot games were organised. Mrs. Vimala Acharya gave Beauty Tips and drew Mehandi Art on the hands of our inner wheel members.

Moral Values

On 16th September one of our member Mrs. Saraswathi Kamath gave a talk on “Moral Values” to the 220  students of Modern School, Udupi. Sweets were distributed by our member.

Women Empowerment Programme

On 13 September 2010 a Guest Lecture was organised on “Moral Values” by Dr. P. V. Bhandari to the members of Women Empowerment Forum of Madhava Pai Memorial College, Manipal. 200 students were participants.

Awareness on Food Adulteration

On 9th September 2010 a Guest Lecture was organised on “Food Adulteration” By Sri Damodar Aithal to the 8th, 9th and 10th students of Malpe Junior College, Malpe. Essay and Painting Competition on “Food Adulteration”was conducted to the students and prizes were given. An awareness was created to ban the use of platic to keep our Eco balance.

Rain Water Harvesting

On 9th September 2010 a talk on Rain Water Harvesting through a Powerpoint Presentation by Barkur Seetharama Shetty to the students of Govt. High School, Indira Nagar. In recogition of his services in the field of Rain Water Harvesting we have honoured him. More than 150 students were the beneficiaries.

Hazards of Using Plastics

On 8th September 2010 an awareness programme on “Hazards of using Plastic” to the students of Board High School, Udupi. The talk was given by Sri Subrahmanya, Muncipal Engineering Environment Dept. Ten pamplets were given to the each student to distribute in his or her neighbourhood, thereby create an awareness in the society. This project created awareness to  more than thousand people.

Teachers Day Celebration

On 8th September 2010 we celebrated Teachers’ Day along with Rotary Udupi by honouring the 7 retired teachers in and around Udupi. 1) Smt. Ganga K. Rao, Retired Teacher; 2) Smt. Saraswathi D. Aithal, Head Mistress, Gundibail School; 3) Smt. Sunanda, Teacher, Kadiyali School; 4) Shri Prabhakar Shettigar, Teacher, S.V.S. High School Katapady; 5) Smt. Veronica, Retd. Teacher, M.M. Higher Elementary School, Bailur; 6) Smt. Shakuntala, Retd. Teacher, M.M. Higher Elementary School, Bailur; 7) Shri Bhuvanendra Rao, Head Master, Indrali English Medium High School.

Free Eye Screening Camp

On 5th September 2010 organised a Free Eye Camp at Govt. District Hospital Hebri along with the Kasturba Medical Hospital, Manipal, Rotary Udupi and Lions Club of Hebri. Free Eye Screening was conducted to130 people. 19 people were recommended for surgery and free spectacles were given to 30 people. Dr. Manali was incharge of the Eye Screening Camp. Rs. 12,000 was the cost of the project.

Awareness on Health and Hygiene

On 4th September 2010 an Awareness programme on Personal Hygiene and T.T. Vaccination was organised. Hand gloves and Masks were distributed to the Udupi Muncipality Workers and members of self help groups. Cost of the project was Rs. 10,000.

Honoring of Special Teachers

On 1st September 2010, we had honoured 70 teachers who teach to mentally retarded students at Children Sports Complex, Manipal. Letterpads and Pens were given. Cost of the project was Rs. 2,000.

Sri Krishna Janmashtami Celebration

On 1st Sept. 2010 on account of Sri Krishna Janmashtami several competitions like Bhagavadgeeta Recitation, Painting, Devotional Song, Story Telling were conducted to the students of Vidyodaya Public School, Udupi.
